All-Russian Robotics Festival of EMERCOM of Russia “RoboEMERCOM” to be held in Kazan
From 3 to 5 September 2026, Kazan will host the 7th All-Russian Robotics Festival “RoboEMERCOM” as part of the 16th International Salon of Security Equipment “Integrated Security”. The Festival’s workshops will run throughout all three days of the Salon, with the main programme events taking place on 5 September. Every guest of the Salon will have the opportunity not only to see the latest innovations but also to become part of them – by assembling a fire alarm system with their own hands, creating a 3D model, or trying their hand at forensic investigation.

The “RoboEMERCOM” Festival is a flagship event in the field of rescue technologies, vividly demonstrating the direction in which the emergency service is evolving: moving from consequence response to proactive risk management through artificial intelligence, robotics, and end-to-end digital technologies. The Festival is organised by the Ivanovo Fire and Rescue Academy of the State Fire Service of EMERCOM of Russia.

Competition for Young Inventors and Designers “Robot to the Rescue”

A platform for schoolchildren, students and young engineers developing technologies to reduce emergency risks. Anyone can take part by submitting a project in one of three categories: “Idea” is conceptual projects and algorithm prototypes; “Model” is working prototypes of rescue robots; “Experimental Prototype” is devices ready for testing and capable of performing specific tasks such as debris clearance or radiation background monitoring. Entries are assessed not only on technical execution but also on the practical applicability of the ideas in emergency situations.

“One Chance to Rescue” Competition

Dynamic team challenges for student engineering groups and professional developers. Participants operate autonomous or remotely controlled robots to complete missions that closely mimic real-life emergency service conditions – from reconnaissance in smoke-filled rooms to the evacuation of simulated casualties from under collapsed structures. The primary objective of the competition is to test the reliability of the equipment and the operator’s decision-making speed under stressful conditions, when the team truly has only one chance to rescue.

Children’s Drawing Competition “Rescue Robot of the Future”

A creative workshop for the youngest visitors. Every child can take part by drawing what they imagine rescue machines will look like in 10, 20 or 50 years’ time. The creators of the best projects will be awarded diplomas and prizes at the Festival’s official awards ceremony.

Practical Workshops

Workshops are open to all Salon visitors throughout the three days of the exhibition. The educational sessions will introduce modern technologies in the service of safety:

— “3D Modelling and 3D Printing”: how to rapidly produce spare parts for equipment repair directly in an emergency response zone and print custom grips for manipulators. Participants will get acquainted with 3D modelling software and learn to manufacture robot components using 3D printing technology.

— “Fire Alarm Systems: How They Work”: sensor design, automatic notification system logic, and integration with municipal services. Visitors will be able to assemble a fully functional fire alarm system on a training stand, learning the principles of smoke detectors, manual call points, sounders and visual alarms.

— “Photographic Documentation of Incident Scenes”: standards for digital evidence collection, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles for orthophotoplans, and the creation of legally admissible panoramas of fire scenes. Participants will try their hand as forensic investigators and conduct scene-of-incident photography.

— “Applications of VR/AR/MR Technologies”: virtual simulators for training firefighters and rescuers without risk to life, as well as the use of augmented reality for navigation inside unfamiliar burning buildings. Through interactive 3D models, participants will gain detailed knowledge of the design, configuration and operating principles of fire-fighting equipment and fire appliances.

The “RoboEMERCOM” Festival gives young engineers the chance to see how their academic projects could save real lives, while industry professionals can discover promising solutions for equipping their units.

Residents and guests of Kazan are invited to visit the Festival. Participation in all Salon and Festival events is free of charge for all who register on the official website https://kbexpo.ru/.
