From the Arctic to Emergency Medicine: What Will Be Discussed in the Business Programme of the "Integrated Security" International Salon in Kazan
From 3 to 5 September 2026, Kazan will for the first time host the 16th International Salon of Security Equipment “Integrated Security”. The cornerstone of the Salon is its extensive business programme, comprising over 20 high-level events. These conferences, roundtables, and strategic sessions will convene leading industry experts, federal and regional government officials, academic and research representatives, and international partners.
3 September: International Dialogue and Strategic Decisions
The opening day of the Salon will feature a series of major international events. Headlining the day is the two-day 3rd International Research and Practice Conference “Ensuring Safety of Oil Facilities”, co-organised with the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences. The forum will bring together global experts to share advanced risk assessment methodologies and best practices in natural disaster mitigation.
Concurrently, a strategic session titled “Certification in the field of Fire Safety. The Past. The Present. The Future” will address critical industry standards. A key highlight of the session will be the signing of a landmark agreement between the Academy of State Fire Service of EMERCOM of Russia and the International AntiCounterfeiting Association. This partnership is set to drive youth-led initiatives and establish rigorous monitoring of digital marketplaces to eliminate counterfeit fire-fighting and technical equipment.
The inaugural day will also feature several other key fixtures, including the meeting of the Council of Rectors of departmental Higher Education Institutions subordinate to the EMERCOM of Russia; a dedicated conference on strengthening cooperation with volunteer organisations; a round table on the use of Earth remote sensing data to solve emergency monitoring and prevention tasks; the International Scientific and Practical Conference on “Monitoring, Modelling, and Forecasting of Hazardous Natural Phenomena and Emergencies.”
4 September: Arctic Security, Emergency Medicine, and Youth Empowerment
The second day of the business programme will open with the Salon’s high-profile Plenary Session. Among the key highlights is the strategic session, "Safe Arctic – 2027", dedicated to drafting the framework for upcoming large-scale drills and expeditionary operations. Delegates will deliberate on security strategies for the Arctic – region where rapid transport corridor expansion and major resource extraction projects introduce complex, novel risks that demand innovative safety solutions.
Considerable focus will also be directed towards disaster medicine. A prominent interagency roundtable, convening leading specialists from the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), EMERCOM of Russia, the Ministry of Health of Russia, and the Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA), will address field hospital deployment and medical evacuation logistics. In tandem, a dedicated scientific and practical seminar will tackle the fire safety challenges of lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles and consumer electronics, a highly critical issue given the rising frequency of battery-related fires.
The day will conclude with a panel discussion titled "Youth as a Driver of the Country’s Development". Here, members of EMERCOM youth councils will explore how grassroots initiatives by young professionals can shape regional safety standards and influence agency-wide policy.
Additional key events scheduled for the day comprise a working group session on amendments to the EAEU technical regulations concerning fire safety and firefighting equipment requirements; an international roundtable on reforming the training systems for firefighters and rescuers within ICDO member states; an expert roundtable bringing together emergency services representatives from SCO member countries; a meeting of the Technical Committee for Fire Safety Standardisation.
