Over a thousand Kazan schoolchildren to explore careers at the International Salon “Integrated Security”
On 3-4 September, as part of the International Salon “Integrated Security”, the careers guidance project “ProSkills: Try and Choose Your Profession” will take place. It will involve over a thousand schoolchildren from Kazan. The project is being implemented within the framework of the activities of the “Osta” Centre of Professions, which is due to open at the end of 2026. The organiser is the ANO “Centre for the Development of Professional Skills”.
An interactive programme has been designed for the young participants, enabling them not only to learn about in-demand professions but also to try their hand at various career paths.
Schoolchildren will be able to undergo careers guidance diagnostics and take part in professional trials using VR technologies. In a virtual environment, they will familiarise themselves with the work of firefighters, paramedics, welders, crane operators and representatives of other professions.
A dedicated area will focus on unmanned technologies. Together with specialists from the Alabuga Special Economic Zone, participants will try piloting unmanned aerial vehicles, get to know robotic mechanisms and find out where modern technologies are used today and which specialists are in demand in these fields.
A large part of the programme will be devoted to professions linked to safety and rescue. In the EMERCOM area, schoolchildren will see rescue operations in emergency situations, including high-angle rescue and road traffic collision response, as well as first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation demonstrations. The children will also see how firefighters don their protective gear and prepare breathing apparatus for operation in smoke-filled environments.
At the “RoboEMERCOM” booth, workshops will be held on 3D modelling and 3D printing, VR/AR/MR technologies, incident scene photography and fire alarm systems.
In addition, schoolchildren will go on a guided tour of the key expositions of the International Salon, speak with representatives of enterprises and potential employers. The programme also comprises a tour of a fire-fighting train.
A unique route has been worked out for participants, ensuring that each group can visit all the main activities.
“Our primary objective with ProSkills is to give schoolchildren the opportunity not merely to see modern professions in the safety sector, but to experience them first-hand. We are convinced that careers guidance is most effective when a child can carry out a professional task themselves, feel the interest in it and meet the people who do this work every day. For some, these few hours at the venue may well become the first step towards an informed career choice. For us, that is the main outcome of the ProSkills project – to help a child not to guess a profession, but to try it out and choose it,” emphasised Emil Gubaidullin, Director General of the Centre for the Development of Professional Skills and Deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan.
