Head of EMERCOM of Russia looks at cutting-edge developments by subordinate organisations
As part of the “Integrated Security” Salon, Alexander Kurenkov toured the exhibition of leading organisations subordinate to the EMERCOM of Russia. The displays showcased cutting-edge developments and solutions used for situation monitoring, emergency prevention, search and rescue operations, and public safety.
Digital solutions play a pivotal role in the operations of modern fire and rescue garrisons. The Centre for Logistics and Metrological Support of EMERCOM of Russia demonstrated the operation of the state information system “Management of Forces and Means of Fire and Rescue Garrisons”, developed jointly with the Ministry of Digital Technology of Russia. This state Information System enables real-time access to operational situation data, management of forces and assets, interaction with the 112 emergency response system, and the processing of electronic documentation.
Practical fire safety matters were addressed to the Head of EMERCOM of Russia at the booth of the All‑Russian Research Institute for Fire Protection of EMERCOM of Russia. Institute experts demonstrated modern approaches to the advancement of fire-fighting equipment, the use of artificial intelligence and domestically developed software. Particular attention was devoted to technologies for extinguishing fires at oil and gas facilities and to the enhancement of testing methodologies.
Developments by the All‑Russian Research Institute for Civil Defence and Emergency Situations of EMERCOM of Russia are focused on civil defence tasks and the protection of the population from emergencies. The Head of the Ministry reviewed modern equipment for search and rescue operations, public protection, and structural inspection of buildings and facilities.
The technologies presented enable rapid assessment of the condition of structures following exposure to damaging factors, facilitating informed decision-making based on the prevailing situation.
What is more, Kazan Expo display showcased a mobile metrological laboratory, equipped with measurement standards and instrumentation in accordance with the accreditation scope of the Centre for Logistics and Metrological Support of EMERCOM of Russia. It is designed for the verification of measurement instruments used by the Emergencies Ministry at their operational locations. International metrology cooperation began to develop this year, so the laboratory has not yet been deployed outside Russia, though this is already on the specialists’ agenda.
Alexander Kurenkov emphasised the importance of the work carried out by subordinate organisations of the Russian EMERCOM in developing and implementing modern technical and digital solutions. In his assessment, the innovations presented at the Salon contribute to the advancement of the emergency prevention and response system and enhance the readiness of the Ministry’s units.
